Manistee man faces five felonies for allegedly invading home.


MANISTEE — A 35-year-old Manistee man faces five felony charges stemming from a home invasion that occurred in the 400 block of Third Street, Jan. 24, according to Manistee Police Chief Timothy Kozal.

Christopher Ryan Perski was arraigned in 85th District Court by Judge Thomas Brunne Thursday, Feb. 1, on charges of first-degree home invasion, receiving and concealing a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, felony firearm and receiving and concealing stolen property $1,000-$20,000.

“These charges stem from a home invasion incident which occurred on Jan. 24, 2018 in the 400 block of Third Street,” Kozal said.

The investigation continues into the home invasion in the 400 block of Second Street, the chief said.

The home invasion on Second Street occurred Monday, Jan. 29, and involved an armed masked man.

The masked suspect, who was armed with a handgun, forced entry in a residence and demanded cash. The 75-year-old victim was not injured during the incident.

The maximum penalty for first-degree home invasion is 20 years in prison. Perski is being held on a $75,000 cash/surety bond in the Manistee County Jail.
