MANISTEE — A 42-year-old Manistee woman was arrested for third-offense operating while intoxicated (OWI) Tuesday, Oct. 3, after tribal officers were dispatched to a hit-and-run crash in the parking lot of the Little River Casino, according to Manistee County Undersheriff Kenneth Falk.

“Officers pulled the vehicle over in the parking lot of Burger King and made contact with the 42-year-old driver. The female driver was taken to Munson Manistee Hospital were a blood sample was taken, and then she was lodged in the Manistee County jail. The female driver had two prior OWI convictions and a suspended driver’s license.”

Manistee County sheriff’s deputies also arrested a 42-year-old Manistee man for OWI Wednesday, Oct. 4, Falk said.

Deputies on patrol “observed the vehicle travel over the center line numerous times,” Falk said. “Deputies pulled the vehicle over on M 22 near Rogers Memorial Drive. Deputies conducted field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test with results of .14.”

“The subject was then arrested for operating while intoxicated,” the undersheriff said. “The subject was asked to take a chemical breath test, which he refused. The subject was taken to Munson Manistee Hospital where a search warrant for blood was executed. The subject was then lodged in the Manistee County Jail.”
