Pleasanton Township man sentenced to up to 40 years prison for meth lab.

MANISTEE — Terry Lee Welch, Jr., 44, of Pleasanton Township was sentenced by 19th Circuit Court Judge David Thompson today, Sept. 22, 2017 to 10 to 40 years in prison for operating a methamphetamine laboratory and delivery of morphine.

In the fall of 2016 detectives from the State, Sheriff’s, Chief’s Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT) initiated an investigation into Welch. Detectives from the task force that covers Manistee, Mason, Lake, and Oceana counties, learned that Welch was involved in manufacturing methamphetamine around in Manistee County. On May 15, 2017, detectives executed a search warrant in the 9500 block of Norconk Road in Pleasanton Township. During the search, several items used in the production of meth were located inside the home.

Welch is currently incarcerated at the Manistee County jail and will be transferred to a Michigan Department of Corrections facility.
