SUV driven into river.

A vehicle is at the bottom of the Big Manistee River after the driver tried to launch his boat. According to Upnorthlive.com (7&4 News), the incident happened Wednesday just after 11 a.m. at the High Bridge Boat Launch.

The driver was trying to put his boat in the water when he accidentally left it in reverse, Upnorthlive reported. The 2004 Chevrolet Suburban then went into the river and was carried about 150 to 200 yards downstream. The boat has been removed from the water but divers are being called in to get the SUV out.

The Manistee County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan Department of Natural Resources responded to the scene.
