Meth lab suspect arraigned on 5 felonies.

MANISTEE — Kalee Suzanne Davis, 27, of Manistee was arraigned in 85th District Court Friday, Jan. 29, on five felonies resulting from a meth lab bust by the State, Sheriffs’, Chiefs’ Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT) this week.  

Davis was arraigned on charges of operating/maintaining a laboratory involving methamphetamine; possessing components to manufacture methamphetamine; manufacture methamphetamine; possession of methamphetamine; and felony firearm.  

The maximum penalties for the charges range from two to 20 years in prison. Davis is currently lodged in the Manistee County Jail. Her bond has been set at $250,000/10 percent.

SSCENT detectives executed a search warrant in the 700 block of Ramsdell in the City of Manistee Tuesday, Jan. 26.

During the execution of the search warrant, several items used in meth production were located inside the home. Meth production involves the use of hazardous materials and requires specially-trained technicians to clean up the site. Members of the Michigan State Police Methamphetamine Enforcement Team responded to the scene to dismantle the laboratory and remove the hazardous materials from the residence. Additional controlled substances and a handgun were also seized from the home.
